Grants for Clean Diesel Technologies (IDPF)
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the EPA has developed the Clean Diesel Emerging Technologies Program (CDET). The CDET is a program through which the EPA is granting $20 million to Eligible Entities to purchase new, emerging diesel filtration technologies.
This is your opportunity to:
- Improve your community's environment by reducing toxic particulate emissions.
- Improve human health conditions within your community by cleaning the air.
- Make your community a national environmental leader by pioneering innovative environmental technology.
- Become a worldwide example of how to turn your air pollution into cash flow.
- Ensure that your community benefits from the Federal Stimulus Package.
Sabertec’s diesel filtration technology, IDPF, is a serviceable, non-catalytic diesel particulate filter that is proven to reduce total particulate emissions over 85%.
What do you need to do?
If you have a fleet of diesel vehicles and/or equipment that you'd like to equip, then here’s what you need to do:
- Partner with Sabertec and elect to implement IDPF technology throughout your fleet.
- Work with Sabertec to submit an Application for Grant Funding.
- Work within a Cooperative Agreement with Sabertec and the EPA to collaborate, improve and monitor the success of the program.
What's the catch?
Other than improving the environment and human health conditions in your community, and having the federal government pay for you to do it, there are none. What is your first step?
Contact your Sabertec representative to set up a time for Sabertec to meet with you. Sabertec will determine what you need in order to equip your fleet. Sabertec will then work with your organization to draft an Application for Grant Funding and submit it to the EPA. We'll then get busy making your community an environmental leader and a better place for its citizens to live.
When are CDET Grants available and when do I need to apply?
The deadline for submitting grant applications for the first round of CDET funding is May 5, 2009. Another funding round will be available in the Fall 2009. To get an early start, contact your Sabertec representative and beginning the process now.
Is IDPF Currently on the Approved Emerging Technology List?
IDPF has an Emerging Diesel Technology Application submitted to the EPA and is awaiting approval.
Where can I learn more about the EPA’s Clean Diesel Emerging Technology Program.?
The EPA has developed a comprehensive web site which provides the details of the program:http://www.epa.gov/otaq/diesel/prgemerg.htm
Is there any material that I can use to share the opportunity with officials in my community?
Yes. There are three things that you can use to share this opportunity with interested parties:
- An Introductory IDPF/ Clean Diesel Emerging Technologies PDF. This is a one-page document that will help you introduce the opportunity. Click here to download.
- A IDPF Collateral Sheet. Click here to download.
- An in depth, narrated Power Point presentation: IDPF & The National Clean Diesel Emerging Technology Program Opportunity. Click here to download.
Who at Sabertec should I contact to discuss CDET Grants and getting IDPF’s for my community’s fleet?
Emailing dist@sabertec.org is your first step to bring Sabertec to your community. E-mail will be answered within 24-hours.
